Hiring an editor is truly one of the wisest decisions one can make. I’ve cringed many a time in reading my own public writing, when I made something simple so complex. It could have been the opposite! ✍️

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE DIVAS IN THE BACK! 😂 Great piece, and good on you for putting it out there. I knew a few of those “nobody dares edit me anymore”-types during my career and, like you, as a fan and lover of books in general, I always wondered why they would settle for less when there was a willing and eager professional editor on hand to help them achieve their best.

When’s your next post? I’m writing my first novel but have been a film and video editor for years, so editing courses through me. And I yearn for the day when I am ready and can afford an editor. In the meantime, I can’t wait to read what advice you have for us writers!
